Set Up Your Server
Get Arkanis running on your Discord server in under 5 minutes. Invite the bot, run the 8-step wizard, and end up with channels, roles, identity, and enforcement policy all configured.
Go to Dashboard →
Eight guided steps take you from fresh server to working governance platform — bot health check, preset, features, foundation, enforcement, support inbox, identity, and apply.
What is this?
The fastest path from “I just invited the bot” to “my server is set up”. One wizard walks you through bot health, preset choice, the features you want on, your log channel, your staff role, enforcement strictness, the support inbox category, and identity linking. Quick Start gets you running. The per-feature docs go deeper.
Why you might want it
If Arkanis just landed in your server and you're not sure what to click next, start here. Most owners finish the whole walkthrough in under ten minutes. The wizard auto-saves and steps are skippable, so you don't have to decide everything in one sitting.
Invite Arkanis
Open the dashboard
Go to the Arkanis dashboard and sign in with Discord. You'll be redirected through Discord's OAuth flow to authorize the app.
Add the bot to your server
If Arkanis isn't in your server yet, click Add to Server, choose the server, and approve the permission request.
Open the setup wizard
When Arkanis joins, the dashboard opens directly on the setup wizard. You can also re-run it anytime from the Settings panel.
The Setup Wizard (8 Steps)
Each step has smart defaults. You can Skip optional pickers with one click and come back later. Progress auto-saves, so refreshing or closing the tab won't lose your state. Steps 5–7 only render if their feature group is enabled.
Pre-flight check that the bot has the Discord permissions it needs (Manage Channels, Roles, Send Messages, Embed Links, Read Message History). The check re-runs live every few seconds, and there's a one-click re-invite if anything is missing — you can't advance until the bot is healthy.
Pick a server-type template (Gaming Community, General Community, Roleplay, Strict Moderation, etc.) or start from scratch. Selecting a preset expands a panel with the use cases it's built for, what's included, and what it deliberately leaves out, so you know exactly what you're getting before continuing.
Toggle the modules you want: Players, Enforcement, Cases, Moderation, AutoMod, plus Pro modules if you're subscribed. A banner confirms which preset is currently applied. Bulk-action buttons: Enable all (free), Enable all (free + Pro), Disable all, Reset to preset.
Log channel, staff role, optional announcement channel, plus the auto-grant decision (which role gets blanket admin authority). For each picker: Create new, Use existing, or Skip.
Choose a policy preset (how strict strikes and bans should be) and a rules preset (when to auto-ban). Toggle Allow users to appeal — this also creates a staff-notes channel in step 6. Live strike-ladder preview.
Build the Support Inbox category: panel channel, transcript channel (staff-only), optional staff-notes channel (if appeals are on), and a Pro-gated modmail toggle.
Enable identity providers so members can link their Discord account to external IDs (Steam, Xbox, Alderon). Providers that aren't configured server-side show a Configuration required badge. Optional verification gate creates verified/unverified roles plus a #get-verified channel with a welcome embed. Optional Member Portal toggle.
Review the checklist, hit Apply, and Arkanis creates roles, creates channels with the right permission overwrites, writes settings, and posts a starter case panel if you chose one. Takes 5–15 seconds.
