Player Settings

Configure which identity providers are enabled for your server, control how players link their accounts, and customize the player system to match your game and community.

Open Player Settings

What is this?

A settings page where you toggle which identity providers are enabled for your server. Steam, Alderon, and Xbox each have their own switch. Turn on the providers your game uses; leave the others off so members aren't prompted to link irrelevant accounts.

Why you might want it

Your game uses Steam IDs, not Alderon. Turn off what you don't need so the link panel stays clean and members don't try to type an Alderon ID they don't have. Five minutes here saves an hour of support questions later.

Setup time: about 2 minutesDifficulty: Easy. Most users get through it first try.

Where to Find Player Settings

1

Open the Dashboard

Sign in to the Arkanis Dashboard and select your server from the guild switcher.

2

Navigate to Player Settings

In the sidebar, click Player Settings. This page controls all configuration related to player identity, linking, and ID providers.

Enabling Identity Providers

Arkanis supports multiple game platforms. You enable only the providers relevant to your server's game(s). Each provider allows players to link that platform's account to their Discord identity.

1

Locate the Providers Section

Scroll to the Identity Providers section on the Player Settings page. Each provider has an enable/disable toggle.

2

Toggle the Providers You Need

Choose the providers that match your game(s):

SteamMost common

Required for games that use Steam authentication, including The Isle (Legacy and Evrima). Players link using their 17-digit Steam ID. No additional server-side setup required beyond enabling the provider.

Alderon

Required for Path of Titans and other Alderon Games titles. Players link using their Alderon ID (format: 123-456-789). Enable this if your server runs Path of Titans.

Xbox

For servers that support Xbox crossplay. Players link using their Xbox Gamertag or XUID. This is less common but useful for console-enabled servers.

3

Save Changes

Click Save at the bottom of the section. New link attempts start using the updated provider set immediately.

💡
Tip
You can enable multiple providers at once. A server running The Isle on Steam with crossplay might enable both Steam and Xbox providers.

Linking and Verification Options

Beyond choosing providers, the Player Settings page lets you fine-tune how the identity system works for your community. Each option is a toggle or numeric field that saves independently.

1

Require Verification

Toggle Require Verification on if you want players to complete in-game verification before their link counts as active. Self-reported links will still be recorded, but they'll show a pending state until verified.

2

Auto-Assign Verified Role

Toggle Auto-assign verified role on and pick a Discord role. Arkanis will automatically grant that role when a player's link becomes verified. Useful for gating access to game-related channels.

3

Set Linking Cooldown

Enter a cooldown period in hours. When set, players must wait this long between re-linking attempts to prevent abuse. If a player unlinks and re-links frequently, the cooldown slows them down.

4

Save

Each field saves independently when you blur the input or click Save. A toast confirms the change, and the audit log records who made it.

ℹ️
Note
Changing provider settings does not affect existing linked accounts. If you disable a provider, players who already linked through it keep their link, but new players won't be able to use that provider.
