Announcements & Messages

Send formatted embed announcements, plain bot messages, and bulk-delete chat with the Moderation panel. Covers sending from the dashboard, sending from Discord, and looking up user and server info.

Open Moderation Panel

What is this?

A pair of tools on the Moderation panel: send a formatted embed announcement to any channel, or post a plain bot message. Pick the channel, fill in title and body, pick an accent color, and send. Both work from the dashboard and from /moderation panel in Discord.

Why you might want it

So you can stop screenshotting your own message because Discord's formatting ate it. The bot posts as the bot, the embed renders cleanly, and the announcement looks deliberate instead of like a moderator typed it in haste. Useful for event reveals, rule updates, and anything you want pinned-quality without the inconsistency of a personal account.

Setup time: under a minuteDifficulty: Easy. Most users get through it first try.

1

Open the Moderation Panel

Two ways to reach the Announce form:

  • Dashboard — Navigate to Moderation Panel in the sidebar and click Send Announcement
  • Discord — Run /moderation panel and select Announce from the Messaging dropdown
2

Fill in the Fields

The Announce form has four required inputs and one optional picker:

  • Channel — Required. The destination channel picked from a dropdown
  • Title — Required. The embed title, max 256 characters
  • Message — Required. The body, max 4000 characters, supports full Discord markdown
  • Color — Click one of six preset buttons (Blue, Red, Green, Yellow, Purple, Orange) to set the accent bar
3

Send

Click Send. The bot posts the embed to the chosen channel, and a toast confirms delivery. The announcement appears as a clean bot-posted embed with no command artifacts visible in chat.

💡
Tip
To ping @everyone or @here, include the mention in the Message body. The bot needs the right permissions for the mention to actually notify users.

Say (Plain Message)

4

Send a Plain Bot Message

Use Say when you want the bot to post a normal chat message without the embed wrapper. Open the Moderation panel and select Say from the Messaging dropdown, or use the dashboard's Say form.

5

Fill in the Fields

  • Channel — Required. The destination channel
  • Message — Required. The text to send, max 2000 characters, supports markdown and mentions

The bot posts the message as a regular chat message. Use this for quick announcements, casual reminders, or any content that should feel like a normal chat post rather than a formal embed.

Clear Messages

6

Bulk-Delete Recent Messages

Open Clear Messages from the Messaging dropdown or the dashboard Moderation panel.

  • Channel — Required. The channel to clean
  • Amount — Required. Number of messages to delete, 1 to 100 (default 1)
7

Confirm the Action

A confirmation dialog appears with the text "Delete messages? This cannot be undone". Click Confirm to proceed. The bot deletes the most recent messages matching the count and posts a short summary visible only to you.

🚨
Important
Deletion is permanent. Messages cannot be recovered once cleared, so double-check the channel and amount before confirming.
ℹ️
Note
Discord's API does not allow bulk deletion of messages older than 14 days. Older messages in the target range are skipped automatically.

User Info Lookup

8

Search for a User

The Moderation panel also includes a user lookup. Either open the dashboard's User Info tab or run /moderation panel and select User Info. Enter a username, @mention, or Discord ID to search.

9

Review the Result

The result view shows:

  • Avatar, display name, and username
  • Presence status badge
  • User ID (monospace, copyable)
  • Account created date and server join date
  • Role list with the actual role colors
  • Linked game accounts (Steam, Alderon) when the user has any

Server Info

10

View Server Stats

The Server Info action displays a snapshot of your guild without any input required. Open it from the dashboard or from /moderation panel's Information dropdown.

11

What's Included

  • Icon, name, and Guild ID (monospace, copyable)
  • Members split by humans and bots, plus a total
  • Text channels, voice channels, and categories count
  • Role count
  • Boost tier (0 to 3) and current boost count
  • Server creation date

Moderation Panel Reference

All of the above actions live inside the Moderation panel in Discord. Open it with /moderation panel.

Set Slowmode

Quickly apply Discord's native channel slowmode from the dashboard or the bot. This wraps the built-in Discord feature (max 6 hours). For bot-deleted rate limiting, use AutoMod's Spam Detection rule instead.

1

Open the action

Dashboard → Moderation Panel → Set Slowmode, or in Discord run /moderation panel and select Set Slowmode.

2

Pick a channel

Select the text channel you want to apply slowmode to.

3

Set seconds

Enter a value between 0 and 21600 (6 hours). 0 clears slowmode. Common values: 5, 10, 30, 60, 300, 3600.

ℹ️
Note
Native Discord slowmode prevents messages from being sent while the timer is active, which is cleaner than bot-deletion. Users see the cooldown in their client.

Which Action to Use

A quick decision guide for the three messaging actions:

Announce

Official communications that need visual weight: server updates, event announcements, rule changes, patch notes.

Say

Quick, informal messages: reminders, follow-ups, or content that should blend in with normal chat.

Clear

Channel cleanup: remove spam, clear test messages, tidy up after an incident. Irreversible, so use with care.
