The 30-second answer

What is an RCON Discord bot?

RCON (Remote Console) is a protocol most game servers ship with for remote administration. An RCON Discord bot connects to a game server via RCON and lets staff run commands from Discord: kick, ban, announce, list players, send raw console commands, and run game-specific actions.

Arkanis covers that surface and adds capability-gated permissions (rcon_view, rcon_control, rcon_connection), an audit trail with reason text and actor identity, encrypted credential storage, and player-identity linking across guilds. The Isle Evrima gets dedicated helpers (dinosaur whitelist, AI density, wipe corpses, player data); other games work through the raw-console surface with the same audit attached.

What Arkanis does as an RCON Discord bot.

The standard structured actions, plus game-specific helpers and the audit attachment that makes RCON defensible later.

Kick and ban from Discord

Pick a player from the live online list and kick or ban directly from Discord. The action is audit-logged with your Discord identity, the player game ID, and the reason. Capability-gated separately from the rest of moderation.

Announce and DM in-game

Server-wide announcements via RCON, or a private in-game DM to a single player. Useful for warnings without the global-chat noise. Both audited with actor identity.

List online players

Pull the live player list from a connected server. Shown in Discord ephemerally or in the dashboard with linked identities where available, so staff know who is on right now.

Raw console commands

Anything not covered by the structured actions. Path of Titans and any generic-RCON game work this way. Raw commands are audited like every other action.

Evrima dinosaur whitelist

Enable or disable playable dinosaur classes, manage the master class pool, toggle humans, AI, and global chat, set AI density. The Isle-specific staff workflow built into the RCON Panel.

Wipe corpses, query player data

Evrima-specific maintenance. View a player current dino, gender, growth, and location during incident review.

Capability-gated access

rcon_view gates read-only access (list players, status). rcon_control gates the destructive surface (kick, ban, raw commands). rcon_connection gates connection management and credential rotation, with a re-auth window prompt before the destructive action runs.

Audit log for every RCON action

Kicks, bans, announces, DMs, raw commands, dinosaur whitelist toggles, AI density changes. Every action is logged with actor Discord identity, target player game ID, action type, reason text, and the source (Discord or dashboard).

What separates Arkanis from a typical RCON bot.

Four things that matter for serious game-server staff teams.

01

Staff identity travels with the action

A kick from Arkanis records which staff member did it from Discord, what reason they typed, and what they targeted. RCON itself has no audit log of its own; this is the layer that makes RCON actions defensible later.

02

Capability gating goes deep on RCON

Not one all-or-nothing permission. rcon_view, rcon_control, and rcon_connection each gate a narrower surface. Juniors get the read view; senior staff get control; admins get connection management with a re-auth window before destructive credential changes.

03

Game-specific helpers for Evrima

The Isle Evrima gets dedicated structured actions: dinosaur whitelist, allowed classes, AI density, wipe corpses, player data. Same audit log, same capability checks. Other games go through the raw-console surface with the same audit attached.

04

Player identity links across surfaces

The same player appears in the RCON player list, the Discord moderation history, and the case channel when they appeal. Cross-surface identity is one of the things that turns moderation from "who did what in which window" into a coherent record.

Pricing

RCON is a Pro feature.

Pro is £7.99 per month or £79.99 per year. Connection setup, structured actions, raw console, and Evrima helpers all sit on Pro. Free plan covers everything that is not game-server operations.

Common questions

What is an RCON Discord bot?+

RCON (Remote Console) is a protocol most game servers ship with for remote administration. An RCON Discord bot connects to a game server via RCON and lets staff run commands from Discord: kick, ban, announce, list players, send raw console commands, and run game-specific actions. Arkanis covers this surface and adds capability-gated permissions, an audit trail with reason and actor identity, and player-identity linking across guilds.

Which games does Arkanis support over RCON?+

Arkanis ships first-class support for The Isle Evrima with dedicated helpers (dinosaur whitelist, allowed classes, AI density, wipe corpses, player data). Path of Titans and any generic-RCON-compatible game work through the raw-console-command surface. The structured actions (kick, ban, announce, DM-in-game, list players) work on any server that exposes them via RCON.

Is RCON a free or Pro feature?+

Pro. Setting up RCON connections, running RCON actions from Discord, and the RCON Panel in the dashboard are all Pro features. The free plan covers everything that is not game-server operations.

Will my game-server password leave the bot?+

No. RCON passwords are encrypted at rest with Fernet symmetric encryption and key rotation. They never surface in dashboard URLs, audit logs, or any user-facing string. Staff can run RCON actions without ever seeing the password.

Can I run raw console commands?+

Yes, on the Raw Console Command action under the RCON Panel. This is the escape hatch for anything not covered by the structured kick / ban / announce / DM actions. Raw commands are audited the same way: actor identity, reason text, command sent.

What does Arkanis do specifically for The Isle Evrima?+

Evrima-specific actions live in their own category on the RCON Panel: wipe corpses, allow or disable playable dinosaur classes, add or remove from the master dinosaur pool, toggle global chat / humans / AI, set AI spawn density, disable specific AI classes, toggle whitelist mode, manage the whitelist, and query player data (dino, gender, growth, location). All audit-logged.

Try it on your own server.

Sign in with Discord, configure an RCON connection, and Arkanis is running structured server actions in minutes.
