By adding the Arkanis bot to your Discord server, using the Arkanis web dashboard, purchasing an Arkanis Pro subscription, or otherwise accessing the Arkanis platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
These Terms apply to all users of the Service: server administrators who configure the bot, staff members who use moderation tools, billing contacts who manage subscriptions, and community members who interact with bot features.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Arkanis is a Discord-native game-server governance platform that provides:
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. The licence does not include any right to resell, white-label, sublicence, or redistribute the Service or its outputs without our prior written consent.
Arkanis is an independent service. Arkanis is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected to Discord Inc., Valve Corporation, Microsoft Corporation, Alderon Games, or any other game publisher, platform, or storefront referenced in the Service.
Discord, Steam, Xbox, Microsoft, Path of Titans, and other product names referenced in the Service are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here for descriptive purposes only. The Arkanis name and logo are the trademarks of the Arkanis team.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required by Discord's Terms of Service in your jurisdiction — 16 in some EU member states) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
To purchase an Arkanis Pro subscription, you must additionally be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf.
If you add Arkanis to a Discord server, configure it, or operate it within a community, you are responsible for:
All users agree not to:
When you use the Service to link or verify a third-party account — including Steam, Xbox / Microsoft, or Alderon Games — you represent that you are the rightful owner of that account and have authority to link it to your Discord identity. You are responsible for keeping these accounts secure.
We are not liable for any actions taken by the third-party platform on your linked account (suspension, ban, account loss, profile changes, name changes). Where a third-party platform's privacy choices change the data we receive about you, we will reflect those changes in the Service.
Arkanis provides infrastructure and tooling for server administrators and their staff to enforce community rules. The Service itself does not make moderation decisions. All enforcement actions — strikes, bans, warnings, mutes, and appeal decisions — are initiated, reviewed, or approved by authorised server staff.
We are not responsible for moderation decisions made by server administrators or their staff. Disputes about an enforcement action should be directed to the server's administration in the first instance.
Automated features (AutoMod rules, auto-ban thresholds, slow-mode automation) operate based on rules and thresholds configured by server administrators. We do not guarantee the accuracy of risk scores, behavioural analysis, or automated detection. Risk scores are advisory inputs to staff, not definitive judgments. Server administrators choose whether and how to act on a flag.
Arkanis is not a moderator of last resort and will not adjudicate community disputes between users and servers, except where required by law or where there is credible evidence of abuse of the Service itself.
Our handling of personal data is described in detail in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described there.
Where you process personal data of your Discord community members through the Service in your role as server administrator, we process that data on your behalf as a processor (or as a joint controller in respect of moderation actions). For business customers requiring a written Data Processing Agreement (DPA), contact trust@arkanis.gg.
The Service, including its design, code, features, branding, documentation, copy, and the structured outputs it produces (such as transcripts and audit reports formatted by the Service), is the intellectual property of the Arkanis team and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our prior written permission, except to the extent permitted by mandatory law (for example, the right to make a backup or to study interoperability under applicable law).
Content you create through the Service (server configurations, case messages you write, AutoMod rules you author, panel embeds you compose) belongs to you and to the relevant server administrators. We claim no ownership over user-generated content. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, transmit, and display that content as necessary to provide the Service to you.
Copyright complaints (DMCA / UK CDPA). If you believe content available through the Service infringes your copyright, contact trust@arkanis.gg with: (a) a description of the work, (b) the URL or location of the alleged infringement, (c) your contact details, and (d) a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorised to act on behalf of the rights holder.
We strive to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee any specific level of uptime. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance, updates, security incidents, or circumstances beyond our control.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. For material changes affecting paying customers we will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice via the dashboard or by email.
We reserve the right to rate-limit, suspend, or restrict access to any part of the Service to prevent abuse, protect system integrity, or ensure fair usage across all users.
Third-party platform dependence. Functionality that depends on third-party platforms — Discord, Steam, Microsoft (Xbox Live, Microsoft Identity Platform), Alderon Games, Stripe, Pterodactyl- or Pelican-hosted game servers, and any SFTP host you supply — may change, become unavailable, or be discontinued without notice if those platforms modify their APIs, terms, pricing, or services. We will adapt the Service where reasonably possible but cannot guarantee continued availability of any individual integration.
Certain features of the Service require an Arkanis Pro subscription. Pro features, limits, and pricing are described on the pricing page and may be updated from time to time.
Pro subscriptions are billed in advance and automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, as selected at checkout) until you cancel. By starting a subscription you authorise us, via Stripe, to charge your payment method on each renewal date for the then-current price.
You can cancel auto-renewal at any time from the billing portal. After cancellation, Pro features remain available until the end of the period you have already paid for.
If you are a consumer (i.e. not acting in the course of a business) ordering from the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you have a statutory right to cancel a digital service contract within 14 days of purchase under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (or equivalent EU law). However, where you have asked us to start providing the digital service immediately and acknowledged that doing so will cause you to lose your right to cancel, that right does not apply once the service has been fully supplied.
Outside the statutory cooling-off right, payments for Pro subscriptions are non-refundable. We may, at our sole discretion, issue partial or full refunds in cases of clear billing error, prolonged outage attributable to us, or other circumstances we consider appropriate.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any statutory rights that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015.
We may change the price of a subscription on renewal. We will give you reasonable advance notice (typically at least 30 days) by email or via the dashboard before any price change takes effect. If you do not accept the new price, you may cancel before it takes effect.
Payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. ("Stripe"). When you provide payment details you do so directly to Stripe, subject to Stripe's own terms and privacy policy. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers. See stripe.com/privacy.
Prices shown are exclusive of any applicable VAT, sales tax, or similar tax unless explicitly stated otherwise. Where required by law, the appropriate tax will be added at checkout based on your billing country.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, except those that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
Statutory carve-out. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under English law or any applicable consumer-protection law.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Arkanis team from any claim, demand, loss, damage, liability, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use or misuse of the Service; (b) content you submit, configure, or transmit through the Service; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party. This clause does not apply to consumers acting outside the course of a business, except to the extent permitted under applicable consumer law.
You may stop using the Service at any time by removing the bot from your server, cancelling your subscription, and discontinuing use of the dashboard.
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for any user, server, or subscription that violates these Terms, abuses the Service, engages in conduct we determine to be harmful to the Service or its users, or fails to pay for a Pro subscription.
On termination of access, retention and deletion of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) survive.
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including (without limitation) acts of God, natural disasters, cyber-attacks, unavailability or material change to a third-party platform we depend on (Discord, Microsoft, Steam, Stripe, hosting provider), war, civil disorder, government action, strikes, or pandemics.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
These Terms (together with our Privacy Policy and any documents they reference) constitute the entire agreement between you and Arkanis concerning the Service and supersede any prior agreements on the same subject. No third party has any rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 or otherwise to enforce these Terms.
Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or any rights under them without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, or sale of assets.
These Terms are governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to the consumer rights paragraph below, any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Consumer rights. If you are a consumer resident in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, or another jurisdiction whose laws grant you the right to bring proceedings before the courts of your country of residence and/or to rely on mandatory consumer-protection rules of that country, nothing in these Terms removes or restricts those rights.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. For material changes — in particular, changes that affect billing, your rights, or our liability — we will provide reasonable advance notice (typically 30 days) by email to billing contacts and via a notice on the dashboard. Continued use of the Service after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not accept a change, you may cancel your subscription before it takes effect.
